In this video, I will show you the differences between the two exercise bikes, and show you the “Peloton Hack” that lets you ride Peloton classes while using the Bowflex C6.
When you factor in the monthly subscription cost, the Peloton costs an additional $1,500 the first year as compared to the C6 bike.
We decided to keep the Bowflex C6 because it’s an excellent bike, and you can even buy a new ipad to stream the Peloton classes through the app and you’d still save over $1,000! Additionally, I like that you can use clip-in cycling shoes with the Bowflex C6 but it’s not essential. The Bowflex C6 has toe cages/foot straps on the Bowflex C6, so guests can use the bike too.

The Peloton app is only $12.99 per month if you stream it on your phone, ipad, or Apple TV, but if you have the actual Peloton it’s $39 a month! The big Peloton screen that is attached to the Peloton bike is only for Peloton content — you can’t use any other apps.
You still get to track several metrics with the C6 and use a heart rate monitor, but the perk of buying the Peloton is the leaderboard. If you are super competitive, maybe the leaderboard will motivate you and the Peloton is right for you.
For most people, I think the Bowflex C6 is a high quality exercise bike and will give you a great workout! It’s super convenient to have one at home, especially in 2020 when many cycle studios and gyms are closed.
