They provide your body with energy and are especially important for athletes. But on those days when you don’t get much exercise, have already consumed enough carbs, or just feel like trying something new, this low carb recipe is a great option.

Low Carb: Lettuce Wrapped Beef TacosIngredients for Two Servings:1 onion1 garlic clove1 Tbsp canola oil350 g ground beef1 tsp red pepper flakes½ tsp ground caraway seeds1  tsp cayenne pepperSalt (to taste)4 leaves of lettuce4 tsp of salsaJuice of ½ a limeInstructions:Dice the onion. Sauté it in canola oil until translucent and then press the garlic into the pan. Brown the ground beef in the pan and mix in the spices.Rinse the lettuce. Fill the lettuce leaves with the ground beef and add salsa on top of the beef tacos. Drizzle lime juice over the top and serve.

One serving has 420 calories, 7 g of carbohydrates, 33 g of protein and 36 g of fat.
